In the newest New Zealand adventure rock climbing The Shield takes in a 50m goat track climb to the base, then hook on and be belayed up 32m of intermediate rock face above the Waitwheta River. Not for the faint hearted but an easy grade at the same time. The view at the top can only be discribed as "Amazing - world class"
