1. KARANGAHAKE MOUNTAIN RIDE

For the crazy mountain biker only! This high-end ride takes you to the top of Karangahake Mountain to take in the views from east to west of the North Island. After a much needed drinks break, speed down the back of the mountain through rugged New Zealand bush riding around the face of cliff drops and mud until you reach the banks of the Waitawheta River. Not for the faint heated, this is for the experienced rider only.

Bikes available for hire from 9.00am daily. Last hire: 3.00pm

2. HAURAKI RAIL TRAIL RIDE

Mountainbike the historic mining route on the banks of the Ohinemuri River. Put your light on as you journey through the one kilometre long Karangahake Rail Tunnel, blasted out of shear rock. See Owhroa Falls and take in the history of the Victoria Battery museum and the spectacular kilns where miners burnt their quartz to extract gold. A relaxing and fun ride for all the family, or a speedy ride with a friend.
